To see the editing commands, however, you have to click on a small button that's easy to overlook, has no text attached, is marked with an obscure icon, and whose existence isn't even hinted at in the getting started manual. It turns out that after you scan, but before you save the file, you can edit the image to improve the quality. It comes with a leatherette soft carrying case to make it easy to carry it along with a laptop.

According to Apparent, the Windows software will also work with 64-bit Vista as well as both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and XP. I installed the Doxie on a Windows Vista system.
